A team building activity not only builds up team awareness, but also adds to the company's success. Through concrete actions, it allows the next generation to feel the impact of sustainability. With rich experience in team building activities, Lok Fun Wan is good at conveying the corporate values of its clients through activities. Earlier this year, we received a request from Canon Semiconductor for a team building activity and decided to utilize our expertise to create a different kind of sustainable team building.
When partners work together, the "sense of communion" created by the team's journey together makes team-building activities no longer a check-the-box to-do list, but rather a warm, collaborative experience. Through activities, corporate values are transformed into a more intuitive experience of learning and joint exploration, as is the case with corporate clean beaches.
Canon Semiconductor called on nearly 300 colleagues, family and friends, led by Kiyohisa Takiyama, Chairman of the Board of Directors, to visit the Happiness Shawan Beach in Hsinchu, picking up 204 kilograms of marine waste, including lunch boxes, fishing nets, and various types of plastic products. Through practical actions, we awakened the awareness of reducing the amount of garbage and plastics in our daily life, and spread the awareness of marine ecology and environmental protection education, in the hope of building a sustainable and healthy future!
This was the first time Canon Semiconductor organized a beach cleanup activity. Partners came to the site early and put on undershirts and gloves together, bending down to pick up forgotten ocean waste. Beach cleaning is not just about picking up trash from the shoreline, but also about understanding the composition of marine waste through statistical data. At the same time, they also classify the marine waste on the beach and rank it in order of danger, so that the information on the safety level of the beach is more complete.
During the beach cleaning process, an environmental knowledge competition was added, in which the children enthusiastically discussed and actively participated in the knowledge related to marine waste classification, application of recycling resources and World Oceans Day, allowing the team to deeply feel the power of downward rooting. It is believed that sustainability has now gone from a single point to a thread, linking up each child's sense of responsibility for "hand" care of the environment.
The team also utilized discarded PET bottles collected from the beach to create a unique treasure hunt game, allowing participants to become more involved in the beach cleanup process. Not only did the participants actively participate in the beach cleanup, but they also learned the importance of recycling and reusing resources in a fun and educational way.
Kiyohisa Takiyama, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said, "In our daily lives, we have been practicing the concept of "Symbiosis" by eliminating the use of paper cups, reducing the use of paper towels in toilets, and even organizing the beach clean-up activities. We will continue to promote these initiatives in the future, in the hope that each and every one of Canon's partners will become more friendly and caring toward the environment and the earth."
Lucky Bay expects that each corporate beach cleaning activity will deepen the environmental awareness of our colleagues from corporate to individual and realize it in their daily life. This beach cleaning event not only echoes the corporate philosophy of "Symbiosis", but it is also a concerted effort to care for the sustainability of the environment and fulfill the corporate social responsibility as well as to unite the hearts of our corporate teammates.
