Customer Needs
EY Ernst & Young is looking forward to creating a warm and memorable orientation program for prospective freshmen. How to build up mutual connection and trust before the official check-in? And how to break the ice quickly through the design of the program so that the partners can feel the friendly and inclusive corporate culture of Ernst & Young, which is exactly why Ernst & Young has found Fun Bay.
Lok Fu Wan Planning
Lok Fu Wan designed a LEGO-themed workshop that combines teamwork, mission challenges and workplace imagination to create a welcome event for EY, allowing partners to use LEGO to create the office they want in the future.
Breakout content design highlights:
The event is designed with a number of key levels and a hidden mission, each carefully planned around EY's cultural values and work context. Participants did not only break the barrier, but also gained a deeper understanding of Ernst & Young step by step:
- Team PK ChallengeThe two groups of partners are in a simultaneous PK, and they have to make calculations and judgments quickly within the time limit, simulating the details in the real workplace, which requires accuracy, patience and speed, as well as a division of labor to achieve!
- Situational Response LevelsThe following is an example of how to communicate and solve problems with supervisors and clients in the future: It integrates the contents of Ernst & Young's stocktaking exercises, and allows partners to realize that different industries have different ways of checking.
At the end of the program, the facilitator guided the participants to review and reflect on the EY values embedded in each level. At the same time, the participants were able to familiarize themselves with the future office environment and get to know their peers through the transition of different spaces.
Results and Feedback
During the four-hour event, more than 50 Ernst & Young Freshmen participated enthusiastically.
The partners mentioned that they thought there would be an awkward disconnect when working on a problem with a friend they were meeting for the first time, but they quickly fell into each other's rhythms, he said:
"I was worried that I would be uncomfortable, but I didn't realize that we worked so well together in the first level, as if we had known each other for a long time."
In the final session of creating the ideal office, the partners put together their own imaginations of the ideal workplace. Not only were there the usual gym, coffee bar, and lounge area designs, but many teams also worked together to create facilities that symbolize physical and mental care, such as a "counseling room" and a "relaxation space". The process has become a tangible reflection, and we can feel the infinite imagination of the fresh people to EY.
After the event, Ernst & Young's HR team also gave feedback:
"From the initial nervousness and constraints, everyone was willing to open up and take the initiative to share and discuss with the partners. This change made us look forward to the day when they officially joined us, and we look forward to each of the partners utilizing their personal qualities in their own professional fields, and working together with Ernst & Young to develop their talents! EY
"This event not only helps newcomers to understand the company, but also demonstrates Ernst & Young's diversified, friendly and accommodating corporate culture!
